It brings together technologies developed through Nordost’s work on its Reference and Supreme Reference cables, making reference-level design principles available at a more accessible price. As the other Norse 3 interconnects, Tyr 3 uses precision Twisted Pair geometry, originally developed for tonearm cables to protect exceptionally sensitive phono signals. Consistent spacing between conductors helps reduce electromagnetic interference and crosstalk, keeping the signal path carefully controlled.

Norse 3 Interconnects

Norse 3 Analogue Interconnects are designed to bring the listener closer to the music they love. Built around Nordost’s filter-less cable philosophy, Norse 3 interconnects preserve the fine detail of the audio signal without alteration, loss, or degradation. The result is music with greater authority, resolution, and natural expression. 

At the heart of the Norse 3 Interconnects is a precision Twisted Pair Design, creating a controlled, noise-negating environment for the signal. Silver-plated, solid-core OFC conductors utilise Nordost’s Dual Mono- Filament technology to further optimise signal integrity. Because noise is one of the greatest threats to an analogue signal, each twisted pair is individually shielded before being bundled within a second, braided shield. This comprehensive dual-shielding system minimises interference while preserving the subtle information, dynamics, and spatial detail essential to realistic music reproduction. 

Terminated with gold-plated Neutrik XLR or Neutrik Profi RCA connectors, Norse 3 Interconnects are the perfect link to elevate and complete a hi-fi audio system. While they combine meticulous construction with uncompromising attention to detail, their role is deliberately simple: connect source to component without colouring the sound, allowing the performance of the system and the music itself to take centre stage. 

Tyr 3

Tyr 3 uses eight 24 AWG silver-plated, solid-core OFC conductors arranged in four twisted pairs. Nordost’s Dual Mono-Filament technology creates a virtual air dielectric around each conductor, while Mechanically Tuned Lengths optimise conductor resonances. Each pair is individually shielded, with a second braided shield providing 97% overall coverage. Gold-plated Neutrik XLR or Profi RCA connectors complete the design. The result is an interconnect that combines carefully controlled signal transmission with the detail, dynamics, and spatial precision expected of a reference-level design. As the highest-performing interconnect in the Norse 3 family, Tyr 3 offers a compelling step toward the full potential of a high-end audio system.
