Norse 2 - High Performance Cables

The Norse 2 family is the second tier in Nordost’s product line, delivering the depth, precision, and nuance previously only found in live performances.

Norse 2 cables are constructed using silver-plated, OFC solid core conductors, extruded FEP insulation, and a mechanically tuned construction which, together, form the basis of Nordost’s great sound. Norse 2 cables build upon those fundamental elements, employing even further technological advances, unlocking the full potential that hifi audio systems have to offer.

After thirty years of extensive research and development, Nordost has perfected a proprietary technique called Mono-Filament technology, which creates a virtual air dielectric by winding an FEP filament in a precise spiral around each individual conductor before extruding an outer FEP “sleeve” around it. By minimizing contact with the conductor, Mono-Filament technology increases signal transfer speeds while enhancing mechanical damping and geometrical precision.

Nordost has also taken a step beyond its original mechanically tuned construction and introduced mechanically tuned lengths, reducing internal microphony and high-frequency impedance resonance.

Heimdall 2

Nordost’s Heimdall 2 cables are the first tier in our mid-range, Norse 2 family. Using the same core design as our entry-level products, Heimdall 2 cables maintain consistency with the Leif ranges. This continuity ensures similar sonic signatures between our cables, allowing for a seamless transfer as one upgrades throughout Nordost’s lines.

In addition to the already impressive core design, Heimdall 2 cables use innovative techniques and technologies that were first seen in the acclaimed and much sought after Valhalla and Odin ranges. Advances such as Dual Mono-Filament technology and mechanically tuned lengths as well as specially designed, proprietary MoonGlo connectors all make appearances throughout the Heimdall 2 range.
