The MOON 888 is the most powerful MOON amplifier to date. The power output is actually very modestly rated at an “ impressive” 1.2hp (888 watts). That is just the start!
A relentless pursuit for perfection has delivered this no compromise design. Normally lines would be drawn about what is worthwhile developing in the quest for perfection, not the case with the MOON 888. Using the heatsink as an example. There was a need to bury the output stage within the heatsink so designing a cast aluminium design for the the job was the final solution. We believe that this on its own is responsible for a huge step in performance. The custom reservoir capacitors and the encapsulated transformers add further enhancement and so the the journey of development continued. The MOON design team also used every trick in their 'big fat trick book' to push again! With a final 8kW capacity output section, effortless delivery of your music to any loudspeaker is a given for the MOON 888.

Massive single-piece cast aluminum heat sinks are manufactured using the same processes as high-performance racing engines.

Audio circuitry is integrated within the complex monolithic heat sink thereby dampening vibration down to the vanishing point.
The transistors’ output section boasts a prodigious 8kW total rating, assuring the amplifier will always operates far below its capacity.

To say that I enjoyed my time with Simaudio’s statement Moon 888 monoblock amplifiers would be a huge understatement. I absolutely loved them.
