The first version of this integrated amplifier was launched in 2014 with major changes in 2016, 2018 and now in 2022/23. Rest assured, the current build of 250i, fresh from the factory, feature the latest technology, components and semiconductors. Classy, timeless, versatile and intuitive to use, the 250i delivers a seductive musical performance and represents outstanding value. A stated by Paul Miller, Editor of HiFi News magazine in the Jan 2023 issue, “if it's not broken, don’t fix it”.
The 250i features MOON's SimLink controller port, allowing for 2-way communications between other compatible MOON components. So, for example, if you were to partner with a MOON 280D you would have a full music streaming system with control of power, volume and auto input selection from the MOON MiND APP on your mobile device. Indeed, a very modern amplifier.
The 250i is once again collecting multiple awards and accolades from the major names in the hi-fi press.

This is a fine amplifier; we need to forget the ‘entry level’ tag. I have repeated many times on this site, as a Naim pre and power owner with various power supplies, I would probably wish to undertake my audio journey now with MOON. And at this price, this is the integrated amplifier to start with, not only is the upgrade path of high quality, but it is as clear as it can be with MOON’s excellent product catalogue.
