SC's new mains cable features a special carbon loaded semi-conductive screen layer that dissipates interference as heat, instead of dumping it on the ground plain like other cables do. This special feature means that the system ground and mains supply are kept more interference free. This quality is especially appreciated in high resolution systems as it increases the stability of the stereo image, keeping it closer to the original recorded stereo image.  This directly adds to the natural and musical quality of the reproduced sound.

The cable is constructed with the live, neutral and earth conductors covered by the carbon loaded semi-conductive layer. This then has a grounding wire spirally wound around it with a final clear layer of tough insulation to complete it. This gives the cable the stripped appearance which is characteristic of all Studio Connections cables. Although this looks attractive, it is not just aesthetic but has a function as this grounding wire prevents any charge ground building up in the semi-conductive layer.

The ability for this carbon loaded semi-conductive screened cable to reduce (and virtually remove) interference is well tested as it is taken from radar blocking (stealth) technology used in shipping and aviation. This mains cable is fully compliant with EC safety standards for mains flex.
