Moon 600i Integrated Amp  – Hi-Fi World – May 2010, Vol.20 No.3

2nd April 2010

The beautiful new 600i integrated amp from Moon has received the maximum accolade from Hi-Fi World in the form of a '5 Globe Award'. At £5750 the amp seemed a little rich for the tastes of Hi-Fi World with their normal taste for vintage audio bargains (the amp amp was tested using a pair of Yamaha NS1000M loudspeakers). However, if you have the spending power take a listen for yourself and enjoy the charms of a real 21st century amplifier.

Moon LP5.3RS Phono Stage – Hi-Fi News – April 2010, Vol 55 No.04

3rd March 2010

The stunning Moon LP5.3 RS has been awarded a Hi-Fi News 'Outstanding Product Award'. Steve Harris comments"Almost from the first notes, the Moon showed a delicacy, a seeming ability to reveal feather-edges of detail which had perhaps been suppressed and coarsened before. On my Harry James disc, the sound stage began to convey something like a real space around each instrument. Drums, piano and brass all gained in realism, with a freedom from stress or strain. It started to feel as if you could just relax into the sounds of the musical event without mental effort, just as you would be able to do if you walked into a real venue". Nice words!

Redefining the Integrated Amplifier !

The MOON 600i Integrated Amplifier is designed to continue where the legendary and award winning MOON i-7 left off. Intended to meet the needs of the most demanding music connoisseurs, it is fully differential dual-mono design, rated at 125 watts/channel into 8 ohms, offering authority, finesse and superb control. Using a variety of new technologies developed since the introduction of the Evolution Series, the MOON 600i provides more sonic transparency and accuracy than ever before.

New technologies include (i) the M-eVOL2 volume control, with a phenomenal 530 steps, allowing for an extremely precise level adjustment just like the MOON P-8 Preamplifier; (ii) New MOON output transistors, specifically designed for use in our amplifiers, provide tighter and more visceral bass performance, as well as unprecedented linearity thoughout the entire frequency spectrum; (iii) An input stage circuit which reduces noise, preserving image focus and integrity like never before. Although rated at “only” 125W per channel, the 600i embodies both authority and finesse at all levels that suggests a much more powerful amplifier, just like all MOON products before it.

Rock-solid reliability, extreme flexibilty and a luxurious lifestyle

Of course, key features you’d expect in a MOON Evolution Series products are present such as our "no overall feedback" amplification circuitry, SimLink and M-Lock, just to name a few, as well as both RS-232 and IR ports for custom-install environments. Finally, a plethora of user selectable cosmetic options are available at the time of purchase.

The new MOON 300 D DAC features an exceptionally verstaile external interface that allows for use with a computer – via its USB-B input, as well as other digital audio source components including a music server, digital tranpsort, etc – though either S/PDIF or optical TosLink connectors. Intended to fulfill the demands of the discerning music afficondo, the MOON 300 D will bring new life to all of your digital audio files, regardless of their storage format.

With internal upsampling using 24-bit/352.8kHz processing, the new 300 D will reproduce your digital music in a genuine life-like fashion. This DAC will accept an input signal ranging from 44.1 to 192kHz, with a bit-depth range from 16 to 24-bits. Jitter is a virtual non-issue thanks to our highly regarded proprietary digital clocking system.

The back panel features 4 digital inputs (USB, SPDIF x 2, and TosLink) and 2 pairs of analog outputs – balanced (XLR) and single-ended (RCA). Of course all the hallmarks of MOON series components can be found in the 300 D such as an IR input, over-built power supply and an extremely rigid chassis.

The new MOON 750 D DAC / Transport features revolutionary digital technology; The first true 32-bit digital audio playback system to reach the marketplace. Intended to fulfill the demands of the discerning music connoisseur, a variety of new technologies since the introduction of the Evolution Series have been implemented to achieve the most realistic and lifelike sound quality yet. In addition, the MOON 750 D is extremely flexible and exemplifies a luxurious lifestyle.

Designed as a fully balanced circuit to reject noise and enhance sound quality, the 750 D features our new MAJiC-32 circuitry (an asynchronous jitter elimination system) built around the ESS Sabre32 Reference Stereo DAC. The conversion process uses 8 DAC’s per channel working in 32-bit Hyperstream™. The final result is previously unattainable musical reproduction from digital media, be it a CD, computer, music server, etc.

The back panel features a complete array of digital input and output connections to meet all the needs of today’s ever-widening technologies. In the coming months, an optional outboard power supply will be made available to further enhance the already astonishing performance of the 750 D.

Of course, all of the signature features you’d expect in a MOON product are present: our revolutionary M-Quattro floating suspension, SimLink, i2DCF, and many more. For the custom installer, the RS-232 and IR ports allow total flexibility for any application.

The new MOON 700i Integrated Amplifier is the ultimate Integrated Amplifier. Designed to fit the needs of the most demanding music connoisseurs, new technologies developed since the introduction of the Evolution Series have been implemented for exceptionally transparent, accurate and breathtaking sound quality. Moon I3.3 Integrated Amp – Hi-Fi World – May 2009 issue,

1st April 2009

A further stunning review of the Moon I-3.3 can be seen in this edition of Hi-Fi World. With a conclusion that reads "Putting all your eggs in one basket used to be frowned upon - and that was just about boxing up the preamplifier and power amplifier into one as an integrated amplifier. Now we see more amps with digital input options, and certainly in the case of the Simaudio Moon i3.3 we have evidence that if done properly, there's little to fear in disturbing the delicate sound of analogue. Smooth, controlled and unflustered , the i3.3 is a high end contender packed into more modest clothing. Check it out if you're looking for a one-stop amp and converter solution that's powerful, gracious and refined."

In general this is a glorious review of this great amp and the product receives the magazine's highest rating of '5 globes'.

Moon RS Series

The RS series of MOON audio components benefit from an even higher standard of manufacturing process than the regular MOON versions. All significant differences are contained within the circuitry and construction of each model.

RS versions are built using different materials and parts in certain areas. For example, printed circuit boards are of a higher temperature grade than that of the military specification FR-4 material we normally use; Their traces are gold-plated instead of a tin/lead composite. As well, all capacitors use improved dielectric materials.

MOON RS models meet and/or exceed stricter manufacturing processes as required to pass many international safety standards such as those imposed by the EU. Cosmetically, the ONLY difference is the RS logo on the front panel
